Donald Wyman Crab Flowering

I have had this crab for a good 8 years. It’s not in full sun but gets sun most of the day. I’m not thrilled with its appearance as the leaves seem to wash out the flowers which aren’t plentiful. I suspect as it grows taller it will receive more light like my cherry tree which blooms great. My snowdrift crab gets a bit more light and is full blooms. Any thoughts?

The tree is established, but still young. I’d be inclined to give it a few more years before making a decision. I’ve got a couple of white flowering crabs growing at the woodland edge that are quite stunning when in flower, but fade into the edge when not. Could you live with that? What are your options as you see them?

Ok, I’ll just leave it and see what happens. Besides, it’s nice to see something too tall for the deer buffet ;) I wasn’t sure if there was anything unique about Donald Wyman that would explain this. I’ve heard DW is one of the best but perhaps my lack of patience as usual gets in the way.
