The blooms of all these roses are gorgeous. I'm sure that with all the love you're giving them they'll be wonderful for the remainder of the growing season too.

Titan i have applied sulfur to lower my ph (we can have very alkaline soils that lock up a lot of the micronutrients) and applied a nice organic based fertilizer (chicken manure and bone meal are the main ingredients). Sharifa responded to the treatment the best. everyone else is starting to show improvements.

Princess Charlene de Monaco. Besides a little bout of powdery mildew probably due to her location (against the north east corn of the house). She is a favorite. Vigorous and fragrant.

Do you measure your pH or just go by symptoms? Do you ever give magnesium?

Christian, keep the photos coming please. I am loving them. It's either your photographs, or the quality of the light where you live, or both, but they are just beautiful. And what a lawn as a backdrop.

Once about five years ago I tested my soil ph for school it was about a 7.8. I haven’t tried magnesium isn’t Epsom salts used for magnesium deficiency? I use a product that is supposed to help with micronutrients i’ll Have to read the label and see if it has magnesium in it.

Spectacular blooms, Christian! I particularly like your Summer Romance and Abe Darby. Abe is a favorite. Summer Romance grew aggressively and didn’t bloom much and so I no longer have it but whenever I see those beautiful quartered blooms I am tempted to try it again.

Dave, I’ve seen a lot of people post about having similar problems with Summer Romance, fortunately I have yet to have much issue with her. This is my third year with her and she really seems to becoming into her own this year. A nice stalk bush with this canes that can support her large full flowers. Her fragrance is also divine, hopefully she keeps up the good work and doesn’t settle into the bad habits she is known for.

Abe also seems to be shaping up he was planted as a band in 2015, transplanted in 2017 and in the winter of 17-18 he was attacked by gophers. Here he is today.
