Planted this alleged Red Dragon Contorted Filbert - Corylus avellena early this spring. Looks more like Red Majestic to me considering how few dark maroon leaves it has, despite all the claims Red Dragon is so much more red than Red Majestic.
Can anyone diagnose the problem of the random leaves turning a crisp brown?
Just not enough water or...disease?
And do you think this will get more red as it matures/
As you can see it is very small and young.
The closeup photo shows the brown leaves that have not yet been removed.
Also I do believe it gets a lot of sun, so that is not the issue with the leaf color.
