anyone ever grown moss as a path between beds?

I have been trying to come up with something I would like to use on the paths between my garden beds to suppress weeds. I would prefer to avoid mulches, as nice as they are, because of the constant need to replace them every year. Stones or bricks are hard on the knees and just grow weeds in the cracks. I've looked at a number of groundcovers as living mulch but I know that when the garden veggies are large the plants in the pathway won't get much sunlight. There is a lot of moss in my yard - local conditions must be favorable. It definitely outcompetes the weeds in some areas. Anyone have experience with cultivating it for a walking path?
