We've got 2 different shovels--the root assassin and something called the terminator. Both look lethal but I would agree that larger roots are not intimidated by them. We have a maple in the front yard that has become a major pain. We have started to use pots in spin out bags since the roots are relentless.

miles, exactly, like everything it has it's purpose. Digging through masses of smaller roots are a piece of cake. It will cut larger roots, but with a lot of (too much) effort.

I wanted to know if you liked the round handle?..I don't have any tools with that type of handle and just wondered..

The round handle has a rubbery coating and grabbing it on the sides with 2 hands gives a firm, comfortable grip. I like it.
