top down bottom up blinds!

I love our new Silhouette shades, they let in light and also can be closed to obscure neighbor's view. (The bedroom platform, were it in my house, would've been used by little granddaughter to stage a "show".)

We have plantation shutters. They let in lots of light, especially the wide slats. Also lots of privacy when you want it. I could especially see them in your bathroom.

I have top down, bottom up blinds now and I've had shutters in the past. I love the ease and convienence of the blinds but then I've always loved the look of shutters...they do block light though even the large slat plantations. I wasn't sure I was in love with the blinds that were already here when we bought this home but I've grown to really like them. Ours are cordless Balis and one other brand. I would get cords if I need to replace... we have both now. The cordless ,even with the little "handle" thingie tends to get dented right around that...and shows dirtier since hands are always touching it. Blinds are not cheap (nothing is!) but are much cheaper than shutters. Your other choice are wood slatted blinds which can give a similar look to shutters but come in at much less $. Pretty area.

Anyone know the difference between 3/4” cells on bowlines or the smaller cell size? Does it make a difference negatively either way?
