I would say it is reverting. On the plus side PG is the best gold in my garden.

June, how much sun is it getting? Mine is green all year.

Lots of late afternoon sun, dappled light from 10 am till 4 pm, full sun from 5 till 830 ish

(*&^%#$%^& Piedmont Gold picture. Now it's going on my list. I have lots of mid/late afternoon sun without Hostas in it. I was planning on moving those daylilies anyway - honest. As soon as I finish getting the Liriope away from the house and planted on that steep hillside.

Goodness Gracious may be a tetraploid sport of Satisfaction, so if you've got a tetraploid version of Piedmont Gold, sign me up! What are you feeding that thing? I could feed my GG the same thing.

Mine isn't a reversion of GG. I brought it as a NOID at a daylily place. It was ID'd here a few years ago.

I do feed my beds a few times in the spring. (7 27 27) which was recommended to me by the guy at the farm supply store by my place.

From my thread (link above), the yellow hosta is not a reversion because Goodness Gracious is a sport of Satisfaction. It seems to be:

• Chimeral Rearrangement: (in Hosta) Changing position of the cells between different tissue layers in an individual, i.e., a gold-margined hosta producing a gold-centered, all-green, or all-gold division.

• It would be interesting to see pictures of the yellow sports from Goodness Gracious in one thread so we can compare them. I don't have a photo of mine yet this year. And if these hosta are a changing of the cells between different tissue layers, then maybe each of our hosta would look different?

Thanks for all the input! It was very informative. I am excited to see what mine looks like next year. So I am going to divide the plant and now I have to figure out 2 new spots for them. I have one spot that's ready and it gets a lot of sun until around 1pm. Many of my hostas like that much sun. Which do you think you think could handle more sun? GG or the reversion part?

I'd bet either would be fine, but I'd like to put that all yellow in more sun.

Every time my satisfaction throws up a gold eye, I rip it out and plant it. Some grow, some don't. I don't see anything crowding out Goodness Gracious in my yard. One day, I expect my entire yard will be one large GG.
