No...........but it should!! Going through my collection of still-to-be-planted pots of stuff this spring that I seem to have accumulated over the past couple of seasons, it has become apparent that I need to stay away from nurseries and plant sales :-) I have too little real estate left in which to plant and my collection of container plantings is getting to be a tad overwhelming................somewhere around 50 at last count.

Oddly, I still have a list of must-haves that I have yet to fulfill. Have no idea where these will go, either!!

Plant ghetto on the driveway? Yep. But I only shop at places that have the sign I once saw in Maine --" Your husband called and said you could buy anything you wish". Hee!

Haha! The bank account may suffer, but there’s always room for more plants!

If the plants I already have could talk, this is probably what they'd say.

To those of us for whom a plant is a plant not a "stuff" it sounds really sad. As someone already said: plant ghetto on the driveway. . . .

Many gardeners I know (or have even read about here) have plant ghettos on the driveway. Eventually my plants do get planted, or given away to good homes. I don't always have time or, more importantly, the energy to deal with getting them into the gardens as soon as I could wish. I try to not over-purchase, but sometimes it is a losing battle, and the drive looks quite pretty! I have managed to decrease the numbers of my purchases in recent years -- perhaps in a few more I will no longer have them waiting on the drive...

Well I have pot ghettoes all over the place..although, satisfyingly, I managed to gift 3 dozen assorted plants to my eldest (who is also a pro-gardener) and once seedlings are out of sight, it really is out of mind.. Since none of these cost anything apart from time, effort and a few bags of loam, I am more than happy to know they are likely to be looked after better than they would be under my less than tender care.

Amazingly, we are coming up to the summer solstice and I have not actually bought a single plant all year! However, I have both upped my work hours and changed to more consultancy work...as a sort of middle ground between basic gardening and design and build...so, my bank balance might even swell beyond microscopic proportions.

I started thinning last fall, worked on it all through winter on the decent days and I'm still at it.

I hadn't bought a plant in a long time, several seasons in fact because the "thing" had become a self perpetuating prairie type deal and I had such good results with direct sowing seeds I had no need for more plants but after cutting it all back last fall I decided I liked the clean look and am still veering back in that direction toward a more xeric high plains look with space and gravel showing.

I chumped off and bought 5 lavender 'Anouk' plants for some silver to replace Little Bluestem (which self sows like crazy) because the native desert sage doesn't like it here because I want that 'sagey" effect.

I'm getting rid of anything that self sows too aggressively or that is taller than about 2 feet, preferably less except for the 'bones' which I have been selectively keeping or getting rid of. Definition (but still very natural) is the goal.

Mine would have said "You have too many plants."

I'm heading out to get 3 large rocks to put in an area I spent hours clearing yesterday.

True, didn't know that you keep your plants in "valuable ceramics from Vietnam". Well, it changes everything. . . . :‑J

So, could you please make your mind whether your stuff is in pots still-to-be-planted or in valuable ceramics from Vietnam?

As for being rude, I have noticed over those two years I am on gardenweb, that you assign that epithet to everybody whose opinion differs from yours.

I have a lot of plants in pots. Some permanent and most temporary waiting to go in the landscape. This is just a small portion of them. Almost all are from cuttings or seeds.

I have over 50 pots in my pot ghetto next to my greenhouse and also over 50 in permanent pots. I have never seen that error message when using my debit card. LOL
