Can you wait until late summer or early fall to move? That would be much better. But if you absolutely must move now, do so on a cooler, cloudy or overcast day and dig and relocate promptly. And keep the plant properly hydrated. Most iris are summer dormant or their roots are inactive during the summer months and so they do not take as well to transplanting during that time frame.
