Thalictrum 2019

I love these plants and hope that we can compile a thread of photos for this season:

The smaller "purplelicious" (definitely not the best name i have seen):

We are enjoying this early white flowering one called "Thundercloud". It is about 4 feet tall:

Keep'em coming please

I was mistaken about the ID in the second picture. It is NIMBUS white (not "Thundercloud").

This is my Thalictrum Splendide, (actually there are two planted side by side) in it's first spring in the ground. Looks more like a photo of our air conditioner- but eventually they

should have a presence. I will probably have to transplant it soon, before the air conditioner disturbs it.

    Excellent Sue!

"Splendide" is one of my fave plants.

Great pictures, rouge. Love thalictrum, I didn't realize there were so many varieties commercially available. Our flavum is also 4+ feet tall and about to bloom, but the roche still has a while. I'll keep track of this thread and try to post pictures.

Rouge I see you found a white one..very nice! I think ‘thundercloud’ is more fitting lol.

Curious how tall your Splendide is right now? My Lav mist out front is getting close to 5ft I believe...looking forward to see it bloom for the first time!

I want that late blooming Splendide White!

Hey GH. I was just looking at it this morning. With all the wet weather I think it is lots bigger than usual ie also close to 5 feet at its highest stem (so like your LAV Mist) and quite "bulky".

Here it is right in the middle of this photo. (NIMBUS is in bloom behind it to the side):

I didn’t realize it came in a white. Yes I’d say thats bulky alright. Mine looks nothing like that!

Looking forward to see it blooming!

GH be sure to post pics when your LM shows its "stuff".

OK I will. I’m hoping not to be disappointed as I know it will never compare to the beauty of yours..

I planted my first ones a year ago. I love them. I did not take any pictures this year, though. I am sorry!

I have been really slack with mine...and as a consequence, many of them fell over during a 2 week wind and rain fest. Worse, a little decora I thought had been mugged out, appeared temporarily but really has been mugged out by some common interloper (seed I had forgotten about)...although I am saved from too much guilt because the whole border is being engulfed by rampageous j.anemones (the real beneficiary of the rain). So, I can no longer see any of the thalictrum, or anything else, really, apart from gigantic applemint (another interloper ). I have been very slack in the garden (because party in the wood and allotment)...and the annual collapse into chaos has already started

I still have some at the allotment (but I fear some enthusiastic spring clearing resulted in a million poppies so won't be taking pics.

Here are two pictures of our Thalictrum flavum currently in bloom. Best blooms yet on this 3-year-old plant, also the tallest it’s ever been by far, easily over 5 feet. Hope everyone keeps the pictures coming as theirs bloom.

That is so good "007"! (I dont see any staking of your specimen?) (Flavum is now on my to get list).

You’re correct rouge, no staking this year and it’s in part sun. A little lean toward the sun to the east but otherwise nice and upright. I think all the rain we’ve had has helped.
