Daisy may , is it time

My boxer that we rescued, lost use of her back legs , now pee and pooping in the house , we rescued her at 10 months now is 9 ,we take her out with a towel wrapped around her middle , I know I’m just prolonging the inevitable , not my first do to put down , I’m 63 and have always had a dog ,but I can’t seem to put her down

i'm sorry you are going through this. boxers are predisposed to degenerative myelopathy and it sounds like this is what yours may have.

you would be doing her a kindness to lay her to rest. she has most likely lost the sensation that she has to go potty because the nerves in her spinal cord are no longer functioning. this will never get better, no matter what the cause and at 9, she has lived a long and i assume very happy life.

Her quality of life today is less than it was yesterday.

It will be less tomorrow, and it will continue to get worse.

Don't make her go through this. Bless you for taking care of her.

We understand what a heartbreaking, painful decision this is. Today is Friday. Might be best to do today rather than struggle through the weekend. Could be very rough for you and her. So very sorry.
