I bought one already potted and growing with 3 leaves.

I know they like it moist. If I could I’d like this with its dark color in a mixed annual planter on my mostly full-sun front patio. But it’s not easy to keep them all watered enough to be moist. Once it stops raining I have to water them almost every day.

I grew a bulb last year and planted it in the garden. But it never achieved a really dark color. The area where I put it is moist but partly shaded. It just looked dark green. I never got it dug up in time to save it.

So: I can give it lots of sun in a pot but it will be drier. I can always put a big saucer under it in the hopes it stays more moist. Not sure if that will help enough. I actually DO have a ceramic pot with NO drainage hole but that might be going too far.

Or, I can give it a moist garden soil but it will have more shade. If it’s just going to look dull I have ordinary green Colocasia Esculenta started to put into the garden. They are fine with the shadier conditions. Thanks
