I am with Patricia. It is not bad and spending money on a new countertop and sink won't change much. Adding art and perhaps some cabinet pulls to the doors will give you new interest without much outlay in money and effort.

A new faucet would be more efficient -- instead of all those knobs, and if you want some interest, you could always add a colorful backsplash.

I would pick a bright, cheery color and paint the cabinet that color. Add shelf above sink if there is room. Put a air plant on the shelf for some green and if you cannot do shelf place on countertop. Find a cute stencil and use color of cabinet you choose for wall above sink for a colorful smile moment. Make it happy!

Now this is happy color. Changing faucet is going to lead to changing sink (too many existing holes) and eventually the whole unit.

One of my pet peeves about stock utility sinks is they are often pre-drilled with 2 holes for a 4” center “utility sink” faucet. A very easy upgrade is to fill the 2 holes with a single pull out kitchen faucet and a soap or lotion dispenser in the other hole.

Vs the usual 4” centers utility sink faucet.

The pull-out faucet is useful for filling heavy water buckets sitting on the floor or for washing the dog in the sink.

I'd paint the cabinet a fun color (like the pink above or turquoise, add some funky knobs, paint the wall a coordinating color, add shelves above the sink. I need all the motivation for doing laundry I can get!

How much money can we spend? It would drive me nuts too since it is not symmetrical. In our laundry room, I added a new countertop and an undermount stainless steel sink with a nice sprayer faucet, a tile backsplash and nice art work. It made the world of difference in a space we have to walk through from the garage to the rest of the house.

I would put in a singLe handle type faucet, if one will fit. Otherwise, I think it looks fine.

Some updated hardware on the cabinet doors can be all the refresh you need. At our last house, I would have killed for your sink. I had nothing. In our current house, I have less counter & cabinet space than you have, and I'm still grateful to have a sink at all. :-)

Nothing wrong with redoing a laundry room to me. Especially if I were to be staying in the house for 5 years or so.

I can be picky too! so for fun wall piece - I'd try rectangular and place its bottom edge about level with top of house cutout.

if what you do "isnt enough" - cheap but nice plastic tray fit on my toilet tank and visually gathered the items. If needed, try pretty tray to left of sink.
