They were potted last fall, and only got put out in the shop when the landscaper decided not to use them elsewhere.

My shade garden is more of a hodge-podge. We bought our house brand new 30 years ago, and started planting trees before we planted grass. They took, and now we have a lot more shade than sun, especially in the back of the yard, where we planted a lot of spruce. We planted them too close together (though it didn't seem like it when they were 3' tall), and in recent years the lower branches have died back due to lack of sun.

5 years ago, my Mom sold her house in the woods. I dug up as many hostas as I could fit in the back of my Jeep, and planted them throughout the shady area in the back. Gradually I have been filling in, but the space is about 120' long by 30' wide, so it's a long-term project!

I divide a lot of the original plants from Mom's house, but need some variety.
