Boscobel and Crocus rose
These two have been looking wonderful this last week. I planted them in 2015. I actually planted them in sets of three like David Austin recommends to get a fuller bush. But I planted three different roses instead of the same. You can see one Boscobel trying to grow besides crocus, the lady Emma Hamilton that was planted with them has slowly grown backwards. the Boscobel on the right of the first photo was planted with another LEH and Queen of Sweden. Those three seem to be getting on well.
I have some nice close ups of once I’m done going through them I’ll post a few.

Thanks Ingrid, this bed has been one I’ve done a lot with this spring to clean up and make it look nicer, it used to be full of California poppy that would choke everything thing out. So I’ve been religiously pulling them out and everything on the bed is happier because of it.

Here is a flax that is next to boscobel and looks great may-June
This is Berlandiera lyrata a drought tolerant perennial that smells of chocolate and starts to bloom as the flax slows down.

HalloBlondie, I really like the blue/pink combination quite a lot. The really make each other pop. Most of my color combinations have been lucky accidents very rarely are they planned out.

Totoro, I do not spray. One of the benefits of living in Idaho is the dry climate is not conducive to fungus. Sometimes in the spring or fall I might see a touch of powdery mildew. That being said the soils is very poor and the roses need additional feed to keep them green healthy and blooming.
Moses, it’s not much of an encore but I do have some nice summer blooming perennials starting as the first flush finishes up.
