Yes agree. The common name is Christmas fern.

Thanks so much. Christmas Fern was my second guess. I didn’t realize that they grow wild.

They're common wild ferns the northeast; and they stay green in the winter, which is nice to see in the woods.

Nice. I noticed them growing in the underbrush of a slope at the back of our yard along with some other type of fern. I dug some up to put on the north side of the house that gets a little sun in the morning where I’m making a fern bed with ferns our wooded area and from my parents’ place. So far they seem content. The area where I found them is so overgrown that they’re barely visible. In the winter I guess they’re covered by what little snow we get these days. Now we’ll be able to enjoy them. I’ve left plenty of them behind partly because I got tired of scrambling up and down the slope and partly because I just can’t get to all of them.
