Tiny Tears and Fire Islanda Krossa Regal? volunteerFire Islands still have nice color..a nearly invisible unidentified blue..this trillium bud feels fresh and it's June 25th..trilliumI have bits of sun!I bought this cordyline last year..it spent the winter in one of my bathrooms..it's a nice color and has grown a lot..adds to my tropical vibe..squirrels? broke 2 nice stalks off the canna in the royal blue pot..the elephant ears are finally growing..still waiting on the caladiums in the big pots..the ones in the small pots are up..can sort of see them in the background..

Everything is thriving! I love your pockets of sunshine coming through the trees. Creates a magical vibe!

Everything looks great nw! Nice to have some sunshine for a change. It is magical the way the sun filters through the trees. We had sun here for 3 days in a row, that was the first time this year I think. Now back to rain - it's pouring.

peren..we'll have rain again too but at the moment the sunshine is wonderful..I started pulling weeds out of the path..it's still to wet to move more clausa..that's a big job hanging over my head..

Sherry..thanks!..I really love blue too..for pots, plants, clothes, just everything..blue's beautiful with green in my opinion..I went out a few minutes ago to put peanuts on the sidewalk for the birds..I planted 2 $1 tuberous begonias in a terra cotta bowl a few days ago..sprinkled bloodmeal on the surface of the soil to deter squirrels but they got into it anyway..they're so annoying..

Sherry..I forgot to ask..have your hostas "outgrown" their hail damage?..

Nicholsworth, unfortunately they still look like carp......I’m pretty much thinking this season is a wash for most of my hosta. There were some with minor damage, those look pretty good now. On a positive note my Queen of the Seas and Sagae are huge this season. My newly added Brother Stephan looks a lot better, it got pummeled pretty good. Thanks for asking, much appreciated!

Sherry..I'm glad that some of your hostas look nice..I've never experienced that much damage..I'm sure that I'd hate it..it's disappointing seeing holes, bent stems, rips or bites..it's tough to keep hostas perfect..that's why we need so many..it increases our chances of having some that look great! Lol..

a squirrel story..I was dumping some debris in a path in my wilderness area and I see a small elephant ear tuber laying there..it had a bud coming so I planted it in a bare spot in one of my pots..I think that's where it was..

a sport on my Little Wonder..naturally the unique leaf has bite marks and holes..we can't win can we?..

These “bites” I have seen on my own plants and others posted. I understand they are cutworms and I have found them around the plant on the ground or on the leaves.

djacob..I haven't looked but no doubt have cutworms too..thankfully most of the hosta are fine but I do have a few with bites..

one more comment before I go out..the heat's kicked in and the tropicals are growing..my kitchen window view is so much fun..the pic doesn't capture it all..I see my blue hosta bed with potted elephant ears behind it in addition to all of my deck plants..here's a glimpse..as the plants grow and I get a prettier pot arrangement I'll take pics again..
