I would use something textural. Grass cloth, mirrors, tile, metallic paint etc. depending on your style.

Looking at the picture its a little difficult to understand the full plan with furnishings. From what I think I see, I'd just leave it as a wall, adding the same type of artwork you'd put on a regular wall.

How deep is it? Dimensions would help a lot.

Btw, don’t know what you’re referring to as your “ design center” but if it’s the builder’s you’re usually much better off doing it on your own, indepentally. I have all my cabinets custom made by a skilled, independent cabinetmaker. Customized to my specs & the cost is surprisingly reasonable considering the quality for custom work. All depends upon the cabinet maker of course.

Sorry, I don't have the dimensions handy. Also by design center, this was a masterplanned house so I picked a floorplan and then I go to this "design center" to pick finishes and stuff. They only had one option to decorate that niche with and it was crazy expensive, something like 8k to add a countertop and some cabinets above and below so I figured I could do something much cooler on my own for less.

I had thought about putting some wine storage in there, but I'm not sure. I like the ideas of putting some kind of accent wall in there, either textured or color. Thanks.

Two different ideas:

1. Built in shelving, either counter to p height or full height; or

2. An eye appealing old buffet, hutch or similar piece.
