Are you sure you cannot visit a local showroom and see shower heads in action? I would look up some larger showrooms and check. Otherwise I would suggest Kohler, they have nice shower head selection. As far as function many of my clients like the Speakman (that is the brand) shower head because it has different spray options settings.

In my home, I have showerheads and handhelds from Speakman, Koehler, Delta and Niagara. All much lower than 2.5 gpm.
Personally , I like the Speakman. And the Delta h2o kinetic. Both are great.

Actually if you have a Ferguson near you they have a shower set up where you can “try out” the shower heads. That’s what we did.

We just installed a new Speakman and like it.

Thank you all for your responses because I've never even heard of Speakman so I will definitely check it out now! And while we have a Ferguson showroom, they do not have anything that shows any shower head in action. I'd have to probably travel to a much larger city to get that kind of service.

Speakman is very popular in hotels, so you may very well have used one, and not known.
We have the Speakman Neo, available in a couple gpm ratings. I think ours is 1.75 gpm. That's the max of any of my showers. It delivers a wonderful water stream, several setting adjustments, and it is simple, and beautiful in its simplicity. I used chrome everywhere, but it's available in some other finishes. Probably less than $50 online in chrome.
Less fancy, the original hotel speakmans ( I think theyre called anystream), deliver a great shower stream, as well, for even less.
Speakman also makes a combo shower slide bar/ grab bar for handhelds that I used in two showers. Again, simple and clean looking. No clunky grab bar appearance, but added safety in the shower.

@jmw - I am in Los Angeles and visited Fergusons several times and never saw any shower fixtures in action :-).

In terms of Speakman, some other brands actually use Speakman heads under their own brands. My shower fixtures are Phylrich but the fixed shower head is a Speakman and it's great.

I had never heard of Speakman either until my recent remodel but it was recommended by my designer who was very familiar with construction materials pros and cons.

I was confused about slide bars and grab bars, thinking slide bars also doubled as grab bars. They are not ADA compliant and should not be used for the purpose. Please double check this info if purchasing one.
