You might want to only use it for decorative purposes as it is called generically Vaseline glass.

Edited to add that I do not think there is a major safety issue.

It's later than EAPG....likely 1930's. It's not Vaseline glass....it's called Apple Green. Maybe originally for tobacco? Or perhaps there were more jars for flour and sugar. I have a cruet in the same color.....and had a footed small compote....but gave it to my daughter.

If you are interested in testing it, get a black light. The uranium in Vaseline glass will make the item ‘glow’ when exposed to the black light.

Not a reliable test....as a lot of glass that is not what we know as Vaseline Glass will glow.....and some Vaseline will not. Green depression glass ( which is what the green jar is) will glow green in UV light, as will custard glass and Burmese for 2 examples. And somewhere along the history of Vaseline glass someone discovered how to make that shade of yellow without using uranium, which was expensive.
So the best way to tell is know is to know your glass.

Good for you....It's nice to use "good" things daily!...I have a similar green vinegar cruet....and it holds the vinegar for my salad, and often drink my Scotch from a Waterford glass.
