Hi all.

I am trying to remove three coats of paint from my fireplace. I used Citristrip which worked okay and prior to applying the stripper I taped along the top of the wood. As you can see in the photo, the stripper ate through the wall paint. I'm going to repaint the wall anyway but there is missing paint all along the top of the wood.

What can I do to repair these areas? I suppose sanding is the only way and applying spackle or joint compound is overkill.

Any thoughts?
