This is after a day of constantly sucking up water...and keeps spreading. I’m scared for the weekend and more rains.

Some perspective would be greatly appreciated

What is the dource of the water? ie how is it getting into the house? And if it's because the contractors have left part of the house open to the elements, Id suggest it's on them to find a solution. I certainly wouldn't accept that there's nothing they can do.

Source is rain water accumulating on the new floor of build and tilting toward the house and pooled water in the new foundation that hasn’t been tiled.

Do you have a sump pump?

Yup...we do. this is coming through we’re the excavated and are building an addition.

The addition should definitely not be sloped toward the house. I’d be telling the contractor to figure out a better fix.

So what in the interim...shouldn’t he stop the flooding and fix for now. As is, we are bailing the basement and it keeps coming in.

I called my agent and they won’t cover surface water damage. They said the builder should have insurance that covers this. I called the contractor who just said it wasn’t their fault and we had a lot of rain (didn’t offer to help clear water or mitigate any aspect of the whole day flood). He was actually mad at us and stated this was not a mistake on anyone’s part and just happened. Again, no help and basement carpet and drywall are involved. I called our banker (since we have a house refinance/remodel and technically they own the house right now). The bank sent them an email that they need to deal with this. They called and reiterated it was not their fault or problem, but they would come out tomorrow to “see how bad it was.” So who deals with/pays for the new drywall and carpet? Seems like this is on them. This is so weird, they are the contractors, isn’t their job to make it right and not our job to pump water for 8 hours, pull up carpet, etc.
