For starters, your tree looks like a cutting. To make it look like a standard, you will have to cut one of the main branches off and reposition it so it looks like a straight trunk. I have a dwarf Meyer that is 16 years old and it grows wider than taller. During my research on this variety, that is normal. This spring it was 36" wide and I cut it to 24". That was a mistake as the previous years it produced about a dozen lemons and after the trimming, I got 2. It's slowly recovering and producing more blossoms.

Here is better pictures. Will it work if I cut one of these and stake the other one upright? Of course I would wait until I've harvested the few lemons.

It's about 6' wide and 4' tall. I've had it about 5 years. Bought at a regular nursery.
