Really had to laugh. I once made a quilt from a book that promised extra 1/2 square triangles...too lazy to look for the book and it's title. I finished the quilt top, but the leftovers are still with me...about 20 years now! Also have little plastic drawers of triangles I cut off, didn't sew, didn't throw away! Guess some day I'll take them to one of the guild meetings and donate them to someone who will use them.
