We just had our kitchen repiped, so now we're on to redoing the ceiling light. Our house is 40 years old. The kitchen ceiling has a square recess of eight inches. Right now there are three florescent lights inside the recess.
I would like suggestions of what type of light would work inside the recess.
I was thinking a Sputnik light might look cool, but am worried about it hanging too low. The ceiling is nine feet high. I am also worried that a Sputnik will not match the light that is currently hanging over the sink.
I also have thought about putting canned lights inside the recess, but someone pointed out that they may not produce that much light because they would be inside the recess.
Any suggestions are welcome.
We will be getting rid of the popcorn ceiling texture as well.
Also, I'm not looking to get rid of the furdowns or the cabinets.
