We are in zone 9 for planting- i love all the grass because we love to play outside w the little one and dog—. However also need serious privacy (hello two story neighbors peering into the pool) and since we are east/west exposure (backyard is on the west side)- serious shade options.

I also love colors- but dont want too many flowers also dropping into the pool.

Will be adding a border/curb and the pool fence must stay We are removing the two large palms. Are fine with completely redoing the landscaping around the pool including removing those two palms. Would love to add a pergola shade structure/cabana at some point.
