Looks fine to me too, I'd leave it personally. But, if you cant live with it, can they apply a black color epoxy to match the driveway over the current one for that strip?

Seems to me that anything you do to color the strip black won't match the driveway after a few years. Asphalt turns dark grey as it weathers, unless you keep painting it black with "sealer." I can't predict what a black-colored epoxy finish will do as it weathers, but I doubt that it will change in parallel with the asphalt.

I think this is a done deal. IMO the best way to handle it is to live with it and not let the same error happen again. But then I'm not too fussy about such things.

So before the epoxy was applied, a strip of gray concrete was showing below the door. I can understand why you don't want to see the speckled epoxy outside the door. It seems to me that if paint won't last and the gray epoxy will yellow due to the sunlight, adding a strip of dark gray epoxy might solve the problem. (Hopefully that color would be less likely to yellow buy you might want to inquire about that.) I don't think you're being too picky.

It would look worse if he had not done that when the garage door is open. Unfinished. Leave it. It was the right way to do it

He did the right way. When open it would have looked a hot mess.

I ended up having a company come in and strip it all off and seal with a clear coat. Much better!

Well, it looks great in either ways. Of course, it's all about personal preferences, but I would leave it, cause it looks like a "border" around the garage, you know. By the way, what exact articles did you read before you did everything perfectly?
