Nuvelle Density Plus Luxury Vinyl Reviews?

Has anyone used this company? Reviews of their LVP? It looks like the company is just a distributor from China? The specs seem to meet all the basic check marks. Of course we love the color and bevel but I dont know if we trust a small company like this for over 1,000 sq ft of flooring?

interested in information, this product is carried by a flooring co. that I’ve used for 20 plus years. I’m looking at the oak Sauvignon. as I’m doing an investment condo, price point up is important, but so is quality. Anyone have any experience w this product in LVT?

I’m in the same host you are. Trying to find info on it and reviews. Love the color.

I went w it.. in Nuvelle Density HD Oak Sauvignon. My retailer has been my go to guy in Destin for 19 years. I used cortec in one project and adura max on a second. He knows that these are more second homes, vacation rentals that I want to look good and have excellent wear, without breaking bank. ( i don’t flip but always get bored and sell to find another project.. and i never go cheap w selections) In his opinion, this is an excellent product at a lower price point than mannington adura max. And the latest Cortec I liked was... of course,in the most expensive lime. He mentioned the beveled edging but I’m rather clueless about that. Install in three weeks..

Yes, I hear good things too. I’ve been going back and forth on this for weeks.

This is the floor color I’m interested. Same product you were talking about. Love the color but am just so indecisive!!!

@Julie R. Dorathy Do you have any pictures? Are you happy with the floors? @Ashleigh Coran Did you go with Nuvelle?

Yes. And yes. There are two colors that are very very close Oak Sauvignon and Oak Navajo. I went w Oak Sauvignon both times. I actually picked Oak Navajo this time but it was back ordered. So i went with the other. I recently sold the property that I originally used it in. I’m using it again in the bedrooms only. Rest of house is tile that I’m living with for the time being. I’ve use cortec before. I don’t remember the specifics, it was a mid range. I personally just struggled getting and keeping it clean.

The next project I used a Mannington Adura Dockside. It was good but I wasn’t driven to replicate.

And the last two ( and I AM DONE for a while) have been Nuvelle. Here are current pics. I’m in a construction zone.. and only one tiny area of the guest bedroom is habitable. I will also include some pics from the last time I used it. again, both times I used Oak Sauvignon.

@Julie R. Dorathy Thank you so much for posting pics! The property you sold looked beautiful! I was actually looking at Coretec, too. Good to know about the difficulty cleaning it. Would you say the Nuvelle is hard to dent/scratch? I have to rough toddlers so we want a durable floor. I've heard horror stories of floors chipping, scratching, and gapping so I'm nervous to install one that doesn't have many reviews.

Same here. Any updates on how theses Nuvelle floors hold up after installation?

I think that I had installation issues and a quite imperfect subfloor. The product looks great but I am having with the “float”. I am working w a good retailer who vets installers. I did not have this issue w the last installation of same product. I suspect that the subfloor was not properly prepared prior to application. I still love the look but I am not happy w installation. Working to resolve.

Thank you for your response. When you say issues with the “float” can you provide more details? Gapping? Noise? i am just about to commit to these floors in the oak Navajo color and any information would be very helpful. Ours will be going over ceramic tile which our retailer and installer said would not be an issue. Thank you!

Has anyone used the color Sand-Trap?

We ended up going with Nuvelle. We have been very happy for over a year (installed Oct 2019). Our installers did a lot of prep work on our slab to get it right. Still a few air pockets spots but I wouldn’t call it bounce. We installed almost 1,000 sq ft.

Our three kids and 60lb dog haven’t done any damage in a year. We have one small dent in a high traffic area and we have no idea where it’s from. It’s not noticeable unless the light hits it right.

    We have been very satisfied.

We did Oak Chardonnay from the Density Plus line. The picture on their website is pretty horrible.

Anybody used Nuvelle Density - Edgewater?

I found this at Deco27 off US1 in Miami. Quoted $3.99/sqf. Is that a reasonable price?

C Noble did you find any pictures of Nuvelle Density - Edgewater? I am considering this color for my home.

    Any install pics of edgewater?

Can anyone tell us what cleaning method they use on the nouvelle Navajo oak ? Love the floor! we had installed but mixed responses on using a Bona mop or the Bona wet mop . So far we have only used the Bona mop with pads and the Bona hard surface cleaner .

Came here looking for reviews of Nuvelle. There isn’t much out there. We decided on the Nuvelle Density in the Sand Bar color. It will be installed at the end of the month. I’m also wondering about the care of floor. I’ve heard that Bona leaves streaks.

I use the Bona dust mop then apply the spray bottle cleaner with the microfiber pad and buff it . I do not use the spray mop Bona machine. No streaks at all !

S C - I am also strongly considering Sand Bar. I just ordered a full box today to see more of it vs just a small sample. Do you have any other photos you can share?

dgorham6 - I don’t have any photos. That’s a great idea, I should have ordered a box. I was concerned with picking a floor that has a lot of movement in the pattern. Sand Bar looked like it won’t be overpowering from the sample. I will post pics once it’s installed.

S C - Sounds good...I'll have my box next week, fingers crossed! I had an issue in the past with too much variation that wasn't shown in the sample so that's why I ordered a box this time. But I don't think Sand Bar will have much.

We’re still in the installation process. It is a floating floor, and the installers at first were pulling directly from the box and laying the floor, rather than mixing up several boxes. We didn’t notice until several rows later. They spent quite a bit of time prepping the floor before starting to the lay the floor Overall, we’re happy with the look of the floor and so far there haven’t been any issues with pockets. I will post more photos soon.

I think it looks great!! I’m not following the issue with 1 box at a time…..do you recommend pulling from different boxes during installation for the variation?

Yes, it’s supposed help to reduce a noticeable pattern.

How are you liking the floor? mine was on backorder and finally in stock. Should be installed next week.

  • last year

Nouvelle Titan is an awful product! First, it was very difficult to install as the locks are very temperamental and hard to lock. Second, they break easily so you have to be VERY careful when handling. It looked good after the install though, and we loved it… for about 6 months. Then slowly the planks started to bow at the seams in some places, and split creating gaps in others. The installers followed all installation instructions precisely leaving adequate space for expansion, not running the planks under the cabinets, etc. so it’s NOT expansion, and not installers fault. Now we have to replace ALL of the floors, and the sales rep won’t admit that the product is defective! Horrible product and a huge hassle. Do not buy if you don’t want to pay for your floors twice. Don’t waste your money on this crappy product, opt for porcelain tile instead.

For anyone still considering Nuvelle density rigid core flooring….DONT! we installed less than 3 years ago and we regret it. it was sold to us as kid/dog friendly since it’s waterproof but my dog cant walk on it it’s so slippery and it dents super easy (a lot of things fall with a toddler around). there are also issues with the seams starting to buckle or fold over in high wear areas. AND we found out we cant buy replacement planks because Nuvelle changed their locking system so there is no way to replace the problem areas without redoing the whole floor. we just bought a new house and will definitely NOT be doing luxury vinyl ever again .

I totally agree and we do regret installing it. it scatches and dents horribly. Ours was installed 3 1/2 years ago in out whole house. i also do not recommend it.

    Is this the engineered product?
