Lady Roberts is glowing

Lady Roberts is a color sport of Anna Olivier, discovered in the very early 20th century. I got mine from the sale at the Sacramento Historic Cemetery. It is about 5 years old, and is starting to spread out. I love the blooms - they are a bit darker than AO, and when the sun is behind them, they actually glow. On its own roots, no diseases, what's not to like?

That colour is ethereal! It's amazing that it holds up so well to your heat. Is it fragrant?

Not very fragrant, as it is a tea rose, and they are famous for having no or just very weak fragrance. They all love my heat, so that is probably why this one likes it. The blooms hold up for a very long time, and do not fry.

Thanks.I didn't know that. I wish I were in a zone for tea roses. I would let the fragrance aspect slide for such lovely roses!

Both the shape and color are wonderful in this rose, and it's equally as beautiful as Anna Olivier. I wish I had the room to grow at least one of them. You're so lucky, Jackie!
