Thursday's select beauties

Here is what was going on today:

Total Commitment: Good grower

CERISE MASTERPIECE: I moved it last fall, so the scape is not as tall. Has been slow to increase. Not a bad trait if you are tight on space. Fans are small, so it may not like the winters. I will give it another year or two.

Courage to Change: Was a bonus plant one year. Tall and will occasionally throw a patterned eye.

Fast Pleasure: A Bud Bennett intro. A large bloom. I torn the sepal trying to get it to lay flat. The color is more pink than this picture, but it is close. I can see why Bud used this one as a parent.

BLUES IN THE NIGHT: Another Bennett intro. This is a cross of KIWI MAGIC x LAVENDER BLUE BABY

JAZZ ME BLUES: Another Bennett intro. Same cross as above. This is a smaller flower.

CAROLINA BOUND: Vigorous and quick multiplier

SCREEN PATTERN: I did not think it was going to survive the winter as the foliage was pretty scrawny in the spring.

Little Rainbow: This is a cute flower. It is a wonderful little polychrome. I love the pink highlights on the midribs.

MARY ALICE STOKES: Starts the season off looking solid red, but once it gets a couple of blooms out of its system, It looks like this for the ramainder of the season.

DRACULA: I love this plant. The fans are massive.

Nordic Night: An older Munson. Fantastic plant.

Dracula looks great, love the rich color. I really like Little Rainbow, I believe showed us this one recently, still like it.

I too love the Bennetts. Fast Pleasure is my pick of them, Dracula is really pretty too.

Cerise Masterpiece had one tall scape this year. I have had it for years, it seldom blooms much, and hardly multiplies. In other words, not a vigorous plant in the North. Scape was unusually tall this year.

David, love your photos. Screen Pattern looks very good.

I have Cerise Masterpiece. I have 7 fans with each having a tall scape (haven't measure it yet) with a few buds on each but it has not bloomed here yet. Your bloom pic is similar to what I see here unlike mantis pic. The foliage is what I call "thinner" than most of my other daylilies. It will be moved as soon as it finishes blooming as the bed it is in is being eliminated.
