Flag City Daylily Tour - part 4

The next garden I went to was Perennial Plant Peddler, the gardens of Ann and George Brickner. Over 1300 registered cultivars and seedlings in an AHS display garden. Since I saw their website listed on the flyer, I looked at in advance and was able to email them to see if they had one I wanted available... they did, and so I was able to get a nice double fan of Confessions of a Hemaholic while I was there. Each fan has a shortish scape and I potted it up after I got home, so hopefully I get to see some blooms on it this year! Anyway, here is some of what I saw...

An interesting group. Surprised that things like Blue Hippo, Jade Ovation, Galactic Green, and Amethyst Ice grow well, but Blue Hippo is an older Lambertson. Also, we don't see the plant habit, and some may be newer in the garden. Flaming Tongues too--one always wonders about Bell cutlivars in the North. I'm sure you made a lot of notes. This sounds like one of the most interesting of the gardens you visited. Like the pic of Heavenly Danger Zone. Thanks so much for the posts!

Laura, I’m glad you posted Entwined in the Vine from your tour. I Love Kay’s photos of it but this photo doesn’t appeal to me. You saved me some bucks. I do like Burnin Down the House, it’s different.

Lots more winners here! I am sure all this was fun for you. It would have been for me!! Thank you for taking the time and effort to share. There are so many different ones. I am surprised about EITV’s color. Mine is in full sun all day and while it fades as they all do, it never fades to that color. I would not have it on my favorite list if it did!

Lovely photos, MY EITV is never that color either... Wouldn't like it. Surprising since you would think if it faded it would here...in the sun and the humidity, but nope. There were some lovely Applioque Prism is really pretty, but that mauve edge isn't my thing. I do really like Jade Ovation, and Jambalaya is a really nice color. Quite aq clump of Elsie STetler, and I like the color of Flaming Tongues.

My Eitv was new this spring, but much better color too. Hope mine continues the way it started. All look nice but I think Jade ovation is the one that really caught my eye.

On the subject of EITV, I believe that is not representative of the color of it. I just planted one from Kate recently and it's blooms have been lavender and purple. That one looks washed out. It's actually much prettier and larger than I imagined. Now for the others here, WOW, wow, wow on APPLIQUE PRISM!!! I have a lust for all the 'prism' daylilies and that prism is unreal. The other one I like is Galactic Green, for the obvious reason. Wowzer to that green eye! Anything with green or a prism and I'm in heaven!

Heavenly danger Zone, Dragon Tattoo, Fourth Rock and Flaming Tongues all do it to me today. I like them bright..............Maryl
