My guess is nut sedge...terribly invasive and difficult to control.

Whatever it is, it is diseased.

Where do you live?

Is it spreading underground and popping up, or is it scooting across the surface?

I live in Oklahoma. I can’t tell whether it’s spreading under ground or across the surface

Do you have any pictures of the plant with seed heads or flowers on it? Or a more healthy section of the plant?

Yep, looks like a sedge to me, maybe a nut-sedge.
