The garden is fuller than ever :-)

Your garden is really amazing and one of a kind! You must be exhausted from watering though. I have found that pots need water every day. What is the blue hosta in the end of your first post——upper right corner. Love the color.

Karin..it's so nice to see your fabulous plants again!..I'm sorry to hear that you're having another hot dry summer..I've had hot and dry weather recently..I lugged hoses, sprinklers and watering cans most of the day today..it's hard work but worth it..keep posting pics!..

I will surely post more in the next days/weeks...we had a very cold May (was not good for the elephant ears) and the hottest June in hundred years. The temps were between 35-40°C for more than two weeks in a row and not enough rain for months now. Our river stopped running for a few days and that had not happened before. Last week was cooler and we had at least a little rain and so the garden and I can relax...

that's exactly what I would love to do...live in a forest :-) I'm trying to raise all kinds of trees and this year I also got some canna which should grow big one day, and everything to give shade for the hosta.

Good to see you back! Wonderful pictures as always. Sorry about the heat, we are also hot here but at least we are getting some rain today from last week's storm in the Gulf of Mexico. Love the blue from Valley's his plants are so pretty. What kind of cactus do you have? I love them too. My arms ache just thinking about all of your watering--it's so hard to keep up in very dry weather and as soon as you are done the hostas need more water.

miles, I can water with the hose. We have a well with an electric pump, but it takes nearly an hour to water. Sometimes I also soak the big ones in a little extra water...my cat loves to drink the dirty water from the rusted box :-)

I started to collect cacti and succulents last year because I wanted something for the sunny places in the garden. As always I bought more than one...I like the Mammillarias and Sulcorebutia and I'm in a cactiforum with many generous people who share lots of plants for freight costs only.

My plantroom will be full this winter :-)

Ann, this is what has survived the winter and I hope they will grow a little...your's look good!

Karin..except for the black elephant ear in a black pot mine started from nothing..yours will grow again too..they'll be big before you know it..your cacti are so attractive..I bought an aloe and a "hens and chicks?"..it was less than a dollar for both..the hens and chicks looks sad already..I'm pretty sure that I don't have enough sun for them but I was curious..

Hens and chicks need sun, something that is rare in your garden. But for less than a dollar it's worth to try :-)

I grow them in short pieces of rain gutter and can place them around the garden as easy as the hosta pots. I still love to rearrange my pots :-)

your succulents are such beautiful colors!..I'm going to move my 2 "experiments" tomorrow..I enjoy arranging pots too..but with other work to do I always think "I'll work on the pots later" haha..

Everything in your garden is gorgeous, but my favorite pic is with your little black! BTW my cats do the same thing, drink water wherever they find it even if it’s dirty! It’s a DNA thing that harkens back to their ancestors!

I added this one to my collection. I was pleased with my overwintering of my last year succulents.

Hoping that my leaf propagations grow. They seem to be at a stand still now that they are outdoors.

It is still a learning curve with these guys. Who gets water and who gets sun.

Looks like a Perle von Nürnberg Echeveria, I have the same one. It is not easy to find the perfect balance for succulents, especially in winter. I'm used to watering hosta but succulents are different :-)

Leaf Propagation is easy with succulents but I only tried a few because I don't need too many plants...this is in spring
