Cheddar Cheese always lives up to its name. Navajo Princess is one I also grow. At the time I got it, it was “cutting edge” on those green chevron throats! Merry Monarch looks very merry bright!

Mantis, I don't have that many Bonibrae cultivars. Besides Bonibrae Black Mist I do grow Bonibrae Jack Laundry and I just added Bonibrae "The Freak" . Most of the daylilies under the moniker Bonibrae are out of my price range so I look for them from secondary sellers. Prices on the Bonibrae cultivars on their website remain very high and really out of my price range that I am able to pay for a daylily , unless I only wanted to order and add a single solitary daylily to my gardens for the year. The quality and performance of the daylilies is really quite fantastic though. For example , the cultivar Bonibrae Black Mist sat in water for at least a month and a half this spring . Ground was so saturated the water couldn't dissipate . That poor plant took I don't know how many freeze and thaw cycles and never batted an eye .

Lilykate , Cheddar Cheese was one of those daylilies that I got when I went to specifically buy a purple daylily . There was a row of these plants and honestly looking across the field it just glowed. I decided then and there it was coming home with me . Purple purchase was completely forgotten . I was so excited about adding this one to my gardens .

Orchid Moonrise is my favorite. I grow it here, but the color is much lighter. I don't think I got a good photo of mine this year. But I'm excited about some crosses I made with it. Bonibrae Black Mist looks like a vigorous grower and bloomer, and I like the color and shape of Pantherette.

What a nice selection of blooms! It’s great to have our gardens finally blooming in earnest. I agree it’s hard to get good photos in bright sunlight, colors always seem washed out. If your daylily blooms are in good shape at the end of the day, try photos an hour or so before sunset. I’m also out taking photos on cloudy days.

I really like Pantherette and Orchid Moonrise. As to photos, I do everything I can to avoid taking them in the sun. I wait for clouds, shade times,etc. which is not always possible. If i need to take an FFO in the sun, I often delete it after posting, or sometimes I wait a day to get a better photo. Not a good answer I know.

I think our daylilies got together and decided they'd bloom in unison. My Cheddar Cheese and Lights of Detroit started up this week. As for photos, I take a million (several of each daylily) at different times of the day then delete the bad ones. My neighbors see me out there snapping pics at all hours like a crazy lady, but let 'em stare. It gives them something to talk about.
