I am building a new home. I used superior walls for foundation and plan to use 2x12 floor joists. I used treated 2x10 for the sill plate and was careful to place the sill plates to have the "cup" of the board up to allow for a level surface once the boards dry out. Due to the weather in the area, rain every other day and hot temperatures, the sill plates are cupping. I tried to use tap cons to pull the edges of the boards back down but that did not work as well as I would have liked.
My question is should I build on top of them and allow the weight of the structure to weigh the boards flat or do I have to remove them and replace as i install the joists so that the new boards dont have a chance to cup.
If I place a level across the sill plate, the edges are level with an average of an 1/8" gap in the center.
