Selling Sunset

Hanging out in DH’s recliner with my throw, cold water, and the flu, so of course I’m watching fluff tv. Selling Sunset is pretty trashy, but I’m enjoying the over-the-topness for one episode at a time.

Realtor talks to stager about a kitchen. Gold-band marble countertops, waterfall edge, $40k just for the countertops. Then, the cabinets are reclaimed barn wood. Really? Used wood. Just sounds funny.

All these realtors look alike to me, like Ivanka.

I need better fluff.

Too much drama and hair-flipping, not enough house. On to...To Build or Not to Build, but it’s not as good as...what was that other show about amazing British houses, they followed the build over 3 years or more?

Which network is this on? I don't believe I've seen it. HGTV was on as "background noise" as we were preparing lunch today, and a plug for the new show with Christina what's-her-name (Flip or Flop?) came on. It makes me cringe ... scenes of her riding in a high-end convertible with her ponytail just a-bobbin'. I'm probably very cranky from the heat, but it strikes me as a completely stupid and vacuous show. Or maybe that's just how she comes across to me.

    Oh well. Feel better!

Selling Sunset is on Netflix, yes. Maybe was on HGTV once.

Flip or Flop always made me wonder what these people were doing in that field. They always encountered some major issue in the middle the project that they could have seen before buying it, even when they can’t get inside, or at least before they got started.

I didn’t see Yummy Mommies o the list, I’ll look it up...after DH and I watch Kindness Diaries.

When I was a kid, my brothers and I got everything—measles, chicken pox, mumps, strep, flu—so we missed a lot of school, usually a week at a time. It was bearable because we’d get the portable tv in our room (game shows!) could have piles of books beside our beds, and get our favorites like jello, graham crackers in milk, pudding, and milkshakes (though when you have mumps, even those are unwelcome). So now, here I am in the recliner, books by my side, graham crackers in milk, and Netflix (There’s even a game show!) Plus ça change!

Woohoo, found Dead to Me. I’m sure it’s been out for awhile, we are so behind on our viewing. It’ll Do until Big Little Lies season 2.

Bpath, are you sure it’s the flu? Two of my kids have had what I was sure was a case of a summer flu that turned out to be Lyme disease. You know you best, but I just wanted you to be aware of this, just in case.

    Feel better!

Jojo, thanks for making me check WebMD, so I’m pretty sure it is not Lyme. However, it is possible that I gave it to my dad, who is in skilled nursing. I had spent the better part of Thursday and Friday with him, and it hit me Friday afternoon,p. But they tell me he doesn’t have the fever I had, so maybe not. In any case, because he‘s in an excellent skilled nursing, the staff was on it immediately. But of course, now I can’t see him or my mom (on another floor in the same facility) for a few days. I had lunch with her Friday, before I felt sick, so I called her nurse to be on the lookout. I’m feeling better already, mainly the cough now, and they always seem to linger for me. I slept all night last night! And that means my husband did, too :) poor guy.

Glad you're on the mend! So glad it's not Lyme disease! DS had that and she suffered! Took a long time to get rid of all of the lingering effects of the illness.

Haha, not to laugh, but you are funny.

Hope you are feeling better, Bpath!

And if you need more mindless TV, try "instant hotel." Lots of fun.
