That looks identical to Corian Sagebrush with a 2" edge.

I'm pretty sure this is quartzite, either a light lot of Taj Mahal or (even lighter) Pietra di Luna. Probably leather finish. Everyone - don't get too attached to a name with natural stone, each slab is different! Same name does not a guarantee stone will look the same even if you find one locally.

I just fell I love with a stone that looks identical (Taj Mahal quartzite...) I'm contemplating buying two slabs in order to cover 10x5 island plus perimeter counters and backsplash. Has anybody done or seen that? Your thoughts?

Great to hear since we are seriously considering it. My only concern was with cleaning it because of the texture. Do you find that to be an issue at all?

We haven't had any issues and I just wipe it with mild soap and water. It hides dirt very well. It has resisted wine, lemon, tomatoe sauce spills with no consequences.

There is a long post on the difference between quartzite and granite which helped me decide for Taj Mahal...Have you read it?

I don't think I've seen the granite vs. quartzite comparison thread on Houzz, but from what I read in general, quartzite is supposed to be a bit more sturdy than granite. I'm pretty much sold on quartzite, it's just a matter of picking the type and finish :) Our local slab yard has both the polished and leather Taj Mahal slabs and they both look gorgeous. It's hard to choose. I was so happy to come across the image of your kitchen because we are also doing a waterfall on our island (one side only), so yours was the only one I found that shows the leathered Taj Mahal waterfall. If you have any other images of the island/waterfall you wouldn't mind sharing, I'd love to see them! Thanks again - you've been most kind with your responses!

Not bumpy at all. If you slide your hand through it you will only feel the natural rigs of a stone
