Visual Comfort Darlana

I am considering the linear Darlana chandelier from Visual Comfort for my dining room. It comes in two sizes. Which is best for my room/table? Thank you!

Thanks Beverley! I will check out that version. If I go for the Visual Comfort one, is the 37" (5 lights) too small? The photos above show the larger (6 lights) version. My table is 76x38. Ceilings are 8'6".
    Thank you!

What is the size of your dining area?

I've been looking at the same fixture. I think the smaller one is fine, but if you want one slightly bigger (like 3"), Savoy makes this one: Savoy Townsend.

    Thanks Beverly! Will measure tonight.

Nice one CLt3. What’s the quality like on the Savoy? I’m considering a nickel finish.
Beverly - dining room is 9’ x 11.5’. But open to the living room.

Love the one Beverly is showing. So elegant with the posts, which usually come with varying lengths of posts for a completely customizable result.

Beverly.. which finish on your chandelier choice do you recommend for my space? Gold? Silver? Or bronze. Thank you!

My son bought the Savoy. I immediately told him I was looking at the same one and he told me it was not the expensive one. In other words, I couldn't tell the difference.

I never understand a light fixture ina DR that lights up the ceiling and IMO that fixture does not suit your table and the large shown does not work with the table in that picture either. The are literally 1000s of fixtures in a linear shape that light the table and would work better in your space. In face I would get some art on the walls , drapes insted of roman shades with that table and chairs and then choose a linear chadeleir with some crystals.

We just moved into a house that has this fixture (six bulbs) in the dining room. I’ll take a photo of it in a little while so that you can see the scale over our table. Honestly, ours will be replaced at some point. While I do like some things about it, it just feels HUGE in the room. I haven’t noticed that it lights the ceiling rather than table, but I’ll check that out tonight.

Hi Patricia. Thanks for the feedback. I welcome examples of fixtures you think would be a better fit for my space. Not crazy about crystals though. Curious about art selections too. Sadly, drapes are not in the cards right now. The romans were custom and I’m stuck with them for at least a couple more years! Thanks again.

If we did change the window coverings now in this space, what would you recommend? In a couple of years, we plan to update the kitchen.

Well.. we added drapes. We will eventually lose the roman shades, but for now at least, my SO and I are still on speaking terms. Need to steam the curtains, but you get the idea. We purchased a new light fixture. Still on the fence about it. Curious to hear everyone’s thoughts.

We also plan to add some art to the long wall.
