i am having my kitchen renovated and need help with the layout. There is just under 9 feet of open space in the middle so we want to put in an island. Not quite wide enough for much counter overhang, but the original plan was to do 6x2’ cabinets, and6x2’ open counter so we could have stools (12’x2’ island total). also, where there is currently a desk space, we are moving the fridge (for some reason the fridge was not even in the kitchen originally). Is the size/idea of the island totally unreasonable? We want to have an eat in area, but the space where the kitchen opens up a bit is right in front of French doors to the patio, so there isby really enough space for a table (hence the counter/stool ideas). Please help and tell me if this won’t work or if there are other ideas!
