no artificial flowers and the lamp is too small.

I think it's a matter of where you want the light to shine. Down on the tabletop makes a lot more sense than upwards, to nothing. The small lamp would look better and be more functional if it had a shade. And imo the table wants a pretty cloth as at least a partial covering.

Your Peter Rabbit bowl looks like majolica. Really beautiful. Leave it empty!

I agree the lamp doesn’t go there. Does the table need anything else on it?

Do you think a large tapestry hanging behind the table would look good?

That's a beautiful majolica bowl, although I wonder if it's not slightly too large for that table. I agree that the lamp is too small and also should have a shade. Can you open up one side of the table and perhaps turn it?

It depends on the tapestry. Could you show us what you have in mind? Traditional can veer off into fuddy-duddy, and the lamp you have on the table veers toward that. It would be nice to have views of the whole room because furnishings and wall art have to all relate to each other.

I brought out one side of the table.

Trying something different.

I seen the pictures that you sent but would you expand on it more. Were you talking about having a table and lamp next to my floral chair?

I was illustrating the ideal height of a table/lamp combo. The table is too tall to go beside the chair. Tables should arrive at arm height or, in a bedroom, at mattress height. Then the lamp takes the overall height on up to 58-64" above the floor. Your table might work behind the sofa. Use it as a game table if you have another of those dining chairs that I mentioned in your other dilemma post.

That would not ever work behind my couch here is the reason why.

And I see your coffee table is already a game table for checkers or chess.

I think I’m going to move the gate leg table into a spare bedroom that my granddaughter uses a lot. It has a trundle bed in it. I love that coffee table that I found at a furniture consignment store. It is really heavy and you can play checkers on it or flip it over and it is all wood.
