I think the rugs look just fine together. They don't need to match in color exactly, but the overall muted tones are complementary and create a more interesting look than if colors were spot-on matched, in my opinion. Nice choices.

The orange tones in the wood floor are enhancing all the blue tones in the gray rug.

Additionally your rug is more blue now because you placed it next to a maroon rug that enhanced all the blue tones in the gray.

I like that rug, but frankly I don't like the overall pink and blue effect it has in the two rooms. I would select a different rug. Something that can hold it's own against the floor and the LR rug.

Look for another rug that give you the look you were hoping for. Looks like you're getting ready to hang something too high on the wall. Center it 5' above the floor, unless furniture is going underneath it. Then hang it 5" above the furniture.

I find the pink and blue a bit juvenile maybe post a picture of the room with the blue rug
