Nice open space with lots ofmovement around and pendant lights at island . White tile w light gray grout ....it'll be fine.....you have plenty of other things to keep you busy right now.

Generally, I prefer to match the grout color to the tile. The tile pattern is subtle and much less busy.

If we stuck with white, this upgraded white tile is an option:

I like the white subway tile rather than the gray. I'd do a contrasting grout (especially if you cook a lot; white grout is a pain to clean). Then if you wanted your walls to be something other than white, there isn't a competing color palate. We did something vaguely similar in my kitchen. When we bought it, there were white cabinets, marble counters, kind of creamish gray walls and no back splash. It's amazing what a simple back splash and a little paint can do...

Is the white tile a perfect match to both your white cabinets and white counters? If not, go with the gray.

I would do white cabinets and the. see if you can get a credit to put something more interesting (color!) after you close. Or do what GD suggested so it’s not so blah

I gotta say, grey tile is cold and soulless and depressing. That's just me though.

If you really really love grey, loved it 30 years ago and expect to love it 30 years hence, then use it wherever it makes you happy.

I see what you mean. Even switching to a penny tile or the 2x12 would give it more interest. I’m also concerned that the whites may not work together, but feel like the grey will just be cold. Have you seen them together in person?

i agree, pretty bland choices....

i would not do white grout, just on dirt and gross factor. white with gray grout - depends if you want the contrast. gray with gray, ok but boring, but if that's the feel of the kitchen you want, than go for it.

i would see if you can get a credit, then pick something you like, if you don't want to be bothered, than go witht the "marble attache series" that give something something... color, your choice.

Any pictures of everything installed? What backsplash did you go with? Are you happy with Ultra?
