Summertime is the time for planning. Greek homes in the countryside always have edibles, so it’s time to research growing olives and grapes, and to consider a kitchen garden which includes lemon trees, lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers. A fresh-from-the-garden Greek salad is the best!
An arbor covered in leafy vines is a wonderful place for relaxing and looking out over the hillsides and the valley below while sharing wine or fresh lemonade. Two arbors facing different directions give you more options for shade at different times of the day.
Plant during mild weather so everything can get established before the heat of summer. Include some Mediterranean flowering shrubs for color.
If pathways already exist, you are in luck. In dry seasons, you may need to manually irrigate your garden, so include a rotating sprinkler for occasional watering.

I would create areas for sitting outside ...look around your house ...in front of kitchen or dining room ..for outdoor entertaining ..gazebos ...with climbing flowers , then in front of your bedroom for private seating ...first carve out areas ..then landscape around them ..with trees ...that block or enhance views ..with flowers and with edible ..enjoy!

How much water do you have? If water is cheap, put in a flower and vegetable garden. A good location would be visible from the kitchen window so you can enjoy the view.

A sitting area with shade umbrella, table and chairs would be easy.
