Which Miele Panel Ready Dishwasher Model

Can anyone recommend a model number for a panel ready Miele dishwasher? After lots of research and (and advice from this site) I’m pretty set on getting the Miele. I was wondering if someone could recommend a model number. I want a reliable workhorse!

Opps!! I forgot to add... I only wash crystal
about once a year on Thanksgiving. I wash my big pots and bowls by hand. On a daily basis, I just washing flatwear and everyday china. I’m not sure I need any special settings. I could take or leave having a third rack. My main concern is that it not break easily because it could be difficult to service in my area.

In Consumer Reports testing, the Bosch 300 Series SHVM63W53N -- $809 performed better than the Miele Classic Plus (panel ready: Miele G4998VI Classic Plus -- $1199 ) and is $400 less expensive.

If you want a panel ready - the Bosch 300 doesn’t work for you.

No, the linked Bosch model is panel-ready and the "Installation Guide for Fully Integrated Door Panel" is included with the dishwasher.

Sounds like worth a look then if you dont care about loading flexibility and third rack configuration. Bosch is a very good dishwasher. In my experience of serveral years of both Bosch and MIele experience - they both clean well. Miele does a slightly better job of cleaning and dries better. I prefer the MIele 3rd rack configuration and the fit and finish of their baskets. Their customer service has been excellent. Their open door drying is a differentiator but unfortunately costs more particularly with the tariffs. I bought mine before price increases and the similarly featured Bosch benchmark was about the same price.

I actually had a Bosch in my old house and hated it. Nothing tried and it required yearly repair. I’m thinking I would prefer Miele

I am very happy with my Miele. I do have the auto open door and the drying is excellent. I did not experience the same issues you had with Bosch. Plastics were not as dry as my MIele but not sure how much of that is due to the auto open door feature.

the auto open feature of the Miele does wonders for drying plastics The 49xx series is actually two generations old, but does a great job. The 6000 is the current US series, in Europe it is the 7000

I would always choose bosch over Miele for a DW. I locve the quick wash cycle and I wash everything in my DW including pots, all the grates for my stove ,crystal everyday. Mine is 12 yrs old I run a catering biz from my house so often 4-5 loads a day not one service call in 12 yrs.

Wdcruise, you keep recommending Consumer Reports which most of us here find just about useless.

To the OP, I know you said you didn't care about the third rack but that's become my favorite feature on my Miele. So easy now to put away silverware! And smaller items fit up there without any problems.

I have a Bosch oven, cooktop and integrated fridge but when it came to my DW, I chose Miele. Mine is almost 2 years old now so I can't recommend a number, but mine also has the auto open feature which is my second favorite feature.

It's pointless to argue with wdcruise. (S)he thinks that the only useful datapoint is price. So, every discussion will be spammed with product links that aren't anywhere close to a fit for what the original author asked for -- but yes, they are cheaper.

Many people come to Houzz, because they want feedback from other home owners who have actually used the various appliances that are on the market. In other words, they look for the exact opposite of what CR provides. We have had this discussion a few times, CR doesn't care, when actual users correct their faulty reviews. Their business is selling magazines and entertainment; for them, writing reviews is mainly a means to an end.

But this insight seems lost on wdcruise. We'll just have to put up with occasionally product placement links.
