Last Chance for Romance putting on a clump show

Forty Day and Forty Nights proving it can bloom a lot longer than the time period stated in its name. Forty Days started blooming on June 5, and had an instant rebloom scape that started blooming before the other scapes were done. That scape ended yesterday, and this rebloom scape started today. I've been very pleased with this daylily's performance this season. As you see, it set several pods for me too.

Rouen Cathedral standing alone like a sentinel in the raised late bed - It has a couple more buds to go.

A Little Fire, Scarecrow with its last bloom. This surprised me, since I thought it had finished about a week ago.

Remember Rose with its ffo. This is my last late to bloom.

August Cherry will continue into August.

Royal Jester will be an August bloomer too.

Mississippi Magistrate ends as it began - with some splotchiness because of overnight rain. This is the daylily that has bloomed for the longest time on its original scapes. It started on June 7th and finishes today. That's seven and a half weeks! It also had more buds (29) than any other daylily in my garden this season.

Nat - I got rid of 63 last fall/this spring through sales and giving them away to neighbors and relatives. I will be doing a fall sale on NGA. What doesn't sell, I'll offer as give-aways. What I can't give away will get trashed (but don't tell my dh because he can't stand that idea. lol) Most of these on the move-out list are old ones that I seldom photograph because they just don't excite me anymore. Anything I've photographed and shown here multiple times won't be going anywhere. If you're interested, I'll send you a link to my sale in the NGA Classified section. There are certain ones that must go by the middle of September. I'm clearing the area around my shed to plant new red hybridizing parents that are coming. And several in my corner bed need to go so I can plant seedlings there. The ones in pots must either be planted or eliminated.

Lots of pretties! What a lovely clump of Last Chance for Romance. Yay 40 days, doing great. Mine is not reblooming and bud count was low. Love Sp Ojo Rojo and August Cherry is a very pretty red. Even with a bit of spots Mississippi is beautiful!

So I read earlier you are downsizing a lot in favor of seedlings. I was wondering if you were going to try to sell / give away, or just compost some.. And also are you going to move them all out this year or gradually? And of course always interested in how people choose what to eliminate ))

It’s great to see your Last Chance for Romance, I have this one butits still settling in, no blooms on it yet. Wow, Mississippi Magistrate is quite a performer and a beauty at that.

Forty Days is so pretty. I am hoping mine show off much better next year, if all the fans bloom. Only 1 scape this time.

Forty Day and Forty Nights has very intense color...nice. Rouen Cathedral is typically the lone bloomer here while others have finished. We shall see if it holds true this season.

Sherry - Last Chance for Romance is very late. I think you will like it. Mine does well, even planted in part shade.

August Cherry is always one of my favorites. 40 days and 40 nights is really nice with that gray/white throat. Not as many lates available as others, but you have a nice variety of them. About now though I must admit I'm getting a tad tired of deadheading since most of my energy in this summer heat is spent watering..................Maryl

Thanks for you reply, Debra! Whoa, 63!! I was only able to part with one last year lol Of course I only have just over a hundred. And a few seedlings. Haha my DH is the same way, I was hiding the culled seedlings among orange daylilies that I still battle. It is sad to do that (trash / compost) but sometimes the only way. Very hard to find somebody locally to give away not to mention sell )) Good luck with your plan!

I check NGA from time to time, so I will take a look! Doubt I can add anything else but won't hurt to check it out ))

So many very pretty ones Debra , you have a lot of blooms left considering your season is winding down! A Little Fire Scarecrow jumped off the page at me . Of course it is a UF so that is part of the attraction for me . I also love Royal Jester and

Lots of pretties still blooming. forty Days and Forty Nights is lovely, and what a nice long bloom. Last Chance for Romance makes a very nice clump, and Aught Cherry is a cheerful face to look forward to seeing, Debra.
