Pedestal sinks are lovely but impractical. There is no place to put toilet paper, cosmetics. Where are the towels for this pretty new bathtub ? I know it's hard to make a small space look open, but we have to think about what people actually DO in this bathroom!

Definitely much better. But seems to be a bit busy or awkward. There are a lot of competing elements...the mirror, the chandelier, the light above the sink, the faucet, crown molding that stops...I like one focal point to draw my eye in. Still very nice.

A glass shower door (to keep the water from going all over the floor) a vanity for storage and essentials and a medicine cabinet would be nice. Those crystal chandeliers are quite unnecessary in such a small space.

I love the tiles around the bath, the mirror and the lovely shower head. But it needs a shower curtain or something to prevent water going all over the floor. For me, I would need more storage as there doesn't seem to be anywhere unless its out of the frame of the photo? Even a basket next to the toilet for toilet paper etc. Not sure about the chandelier but it seems to work.

It is better, but I think that the homeowners got a little too fancy with the curved mirror, light above the mirror, sink fixtures, and chandelier. I would have liked to have seen subway tile cover all of the bathroom walls, a walk-in shower with a glass door, a simpler mirror, and recessed lighting. I think things are better classic, clean, and simple. Everything is more elegant that way.

I understand that some may want to add bling to their bathrooms and it doesn't bother me, but the wall plus below the sink, doesn't seem like it is a GFCI (ground fault current interrupter), which is very dangerous!

It's prettier but less functional. Pedestal sinks are silly except in powder rooms, and showers should have doors -- curtains are a pain. I have no idea about those rain showerheads -- how do you step out of the stream partially? It's only for people with very short hair.

wow. I usually like your makeovers, but this one is a complete bust for me. I like some parts but definitely not others. The mirror and the chandelier are not working for me - they're just too "cheesey pretention" in a clearly incapable bathroom. I'm a taller woman, at 5'8" and I'm thinking that shower head would be way too low for even me, much less a 6' tall man. Has anyone else noticed there are three totally different types of tile happening??? What is with that? The black dot tile, then next to that looks like some sort of large square 12" maybe, marble tile, then the bathtub has 4" square marble tiles??? Those *may* be the same pattern as the 12" tiles, that just doesn't work for me either. And there is zero interest to the tile. Moving on.... the way the top molding is cut at the top of the tub area is awkward and ends abruptly. It looks like the bathtub itself doesn't fit flush with the wall at the head.... is that part of the design??? Yep. The more I look the worse this bathroom is. The only thing I *do* like is the pedestal sink, and I wouldn't install that in any bathroom that doesn't have a linen closet inside the bathroom for supplies. This one is a fail for me.

I assume there is a tension-rod for the shower curtain that was removed for the picture. Otherwise, that very nice bathroom would end up with water damage.

Wow, TIsh B what a Debbie Downer you are, I may not like every element of this design, but some things do fall to personal taste. It is much nicer than before and perhaps the lack of storage works in this owner's lifestyle. However, it sounds as though you just enjoy ripping apart the work of others. I guess you could swag back a shower curtain, but in my experience, if you are going to have a pedestal sink you've got to have some kind of cabinet somewhere in the bathroom for the hair dryer, toilet paper, extra soap etc. Over the sink, next to the tub, somewhere.

I hate to post negatives, but I think chandeliers are a little over the top for a bathroom. Maybe a big bathroom, but this little one just looks overwhelmed.

How do I get you to come to my house and give the poor old thing a makeover??

Thank you everyone for your comments. There is storage in this bathroom, it's just not in this picture. The homeowner is a very short woman and requested that we install the shower head at a lower height for her. Below is the picture of the bathroom storage.

Great Job! I think that there should be an "unlike" button to some peoples comments. In this world, there are too many critics and not enough encouragement. I am not a designer but can clearly see that this is a unique, custom job. It may not be for everyone, but then again, I don't think that was your intent. I think your loyalty was to the homeowner and you stepped up to the plate and did a wonderful job. It is a huge improvement to the before picture. I don't think anyone can argue with that.

While not a fan of pedestal sinks, it is nice to see a makeover on a bathroom as small as mine. With the added knowledge of the storage this is an improvement over the existing bathroom, bling not my style tho.

The storage is *gorgeous*! And for those who didn't like my comments, sorry. The whole point is to critique. I pointed out the problems (for ME) and the thing I did like. Like I said before, I almost always love makeovers, or at least the majority. This one isn't my favorite but it has elements I do like a lot. The issue with the shower is explained. (Thanks). I like it!
I used a bathroom laid out just like this on Sunday night, as a guest at a friend's house. The shower curtains did a fine job at keeping the water in the shower, no need for shower doors (like Cami19 said, I assume u just removed the shower curtains & the rod for this picture). In any case, the floor of the room itself had a slight gradient towards the center where there was a covered drain, in case of the occasional accident.
I say "out with the old, in with the new". If you're doing a makeover, means you desire a change...why put back shower doors? and a vanity cabinet with doors?
