It depends on how much money you're planning to spend on new globes and paint, sometimes you can find new ceiling fans for less if they're on clearance/sale.

A few years back I did some DIY on my kitchen ceiling fans, they were like yours, I painted them matte white and flipped the blades (thy're the ones with white on one side, wood on the other). It did improve the look of them, nowadays I'm too busy to pay attention to them but they might need replacing, they're starting to sag and they only work on low..:)

If DIYing them, you might want to ask yourself if you're willing to spend the time on prepping them for the paint job, it may be a tiring process...

PS. You might need to take them down for the DIY, otherwise you're shoulders will be in so much pain by working on them while still installed.
