Blower only runs on AC.

I have a Trane 80XL TUD100R948A1 furnace that has been working fine until I changed the thermostat. I bought a Honeywell TH8110R1008. I hooked the wires up the exact same way as the older Honeywell thermostat but I cannot get the blower fan to run at all except when cooling mode is on. When I turn the heat on the blowers fire and the furnace gets hot and after several minutes they stop and I get an overheat error code. I can hear a click around the time the blower should start up. When I try to turn it to just fan it won't run. Only when AC is on will the blower run, so I know the blower isn't shot. I even tried reconnecting the old thermostat back up following the pic I took before I disconnected it and still have the same issue, so I'm hoping I didn't mess something up along the way that's gonna cost me money I don't have. Any help would be appreciated.

Presumably you meant when the burners fire?

You have to be able to 'TROUBLE SHOOT' why the blower only comes in AC mode and not in heat. It's not always the same thing. This is why HVAC is an 'in person' kind of job.

If you don't know what you're doing... you will probably only make a mess of things. If I have seen a disassembled unit by an amateur 1 time, I have seen it a thousand times. It 'rarely' ends well.

You make the job harder doing these things and often times cause more damage to your system. Trane brand in particular charge premium for repair parts, so it's in your best interest to call for professional help. (Make sure who ever you call is licensed HVAC contractor.)

What is the model number of the old thermostat? Can you post the picture of the original wiring? Where you able to turn on the blower only with the old thermostat?
