42 - they are my least favorite color combination in daylilies and they are small size flower

43 - Peace Beyond Understand sdlg, tall and I like the delicate coloring, will keep

44 - from an orange noid, we both kinda like it even though it's so plain, it kinda looks red so I am trying to make it redder, good pod setter, med ht

45 - another Peace Beyond Understanding sdlg, which looks a lot like PBU but it's short and doesn't open well, I will keep to see if it improves though cause I like light colored dls

46 - Wren's Song x Red Friday, tall like WS and looks like WS

47 - a whole bunch of seedlings of my very first pink seedlings crossed with Heartbeat of Heaven, I have a really hard time telling them apart lol

They are all approximately the same height, but for a couple which actually look a bit different

48 - #2 - looks v similar, it could be the same flower, I planted the first 2 too close, but that #2 bloomed later and is the only one with IR

51 - #5

#6 will be composted soon because of 2 years of mostly splotchy blooms, looks the same as #5

52 - #7 - finally different, it's a big shorter but it's a lavender with a lavender wm, not the best pic, new this year, all the rest are 2-3yo

53 - #8 - dark purple but short

54 - #9 - like the look the best, it's reddish, but way too short, like 19"

55 - and #10 the last of pink sdlg x Heartbeat of Heaven cross (plus one didn't bloom this year), it's tall, it has a good scape but just too plain

56 - one of the Chance Encounter seedlings x Heartbeat of Heaven - new this year, one of my faves, med height, 5.5 fl; it looks almost identical to seedling 11 but this one has an outline of its watermark. Maybe because they both have Carol Emmerich's flowers used on them but different ones, those could be related though

57 - sib to the above, it's tall and has an IR scape

58 - and finally my very first pink seedling, unknown

I am assuming these have only been blooming for 2 years blooming so maybe they need another season to cycle through to determine viability? You have some really nice babies.

Nat, not sure how you are able to be so brutal ?. I know I couldn't do it . You have some real beauties there. I really like most of them . I especially like 37 - No More Tears x Red Friday, I love the bitone . The next I like is 55 - and #10 the last of pink sdlg x Heartbeat of Heaven cross The others all appear to be lovely but all similar pinks . I do like pink. but hard to distinquish one from the other . Of course I am not there to see them in person ( wish I was LOL !)

All of them look pretty good. The ones I like most are numbers 34. 41 (too bad it's going to the compost pile), 55 (great lavender color, but you find it plain), and 56. Just how short is #53?

Nat, There are once again a lot of nice ones. Narrowing down to color and form, my favorites are 35, 36, 48, 50, 55 [love the color, don't mind plain], and 58. If you would, contact me before composting any of the ones I listed.

Thanks Debra! Ooh 34th got a like, yes )) 41 is a very small bloom, I don't mind 4 inches but it is smaller than that. I made a mistake, 53 purple is 19 inches, so the red 54 is even shorter.. I did make some crosses of them with each other, if they ever get planted then in 2-3 years I will know lol I really expected more from Heartbeat of Heaven but apparently my pink seedling has very strong genes, all its seedlings mostly look like it. I wanted to give it an edge and make flowers bigger.

Thanks Brad! Thanks for the likes! I was only going to compost 36, because like I said I have many similar and flowers on it are smaller size than I'd like. To be honest I don't record stats on the ones that don't excite me right away, so not sure about bud count etc. I also have most of my seedlings in bad spots so they don't multiply well, which works for me because I can keep them longer without constant dividing (and usually my daylilies multiply extra well lol) but 35 36 and 58 have multiple fans. The others are just 2 fans.

What I was wondering is people pick 55 and to my taste it's not a pretty color so what I thought was maybe on diff monitors it looks better? Looks true on mine, kinda not quite pink and not quite lavender, so that's why I was wondering..

Nat, the color on 55 looks like a bright lavender, very vivid with a pinkish eye. I guess that isn't the true color?

Brad, ah, as I suspected.. No, on my monitor(s) it's a light lavender pink with a faint watermark, similar to the color of petals on 52 but pink-er. If I tilt the screen it looks darker.

I think any that regularly double scape are worth keeping for hybridizing reasons. I think the Heartbeat of Heaven x your pink seedling look pretty nice. You did get a little bit of a HOH's white edge on them. I would cross them together to see if I could get something with a larger edge. They all have nice color.

You got a lot of nice eyed ones out of Red Friday. I didn't even know that Red Friday grew well in the North.

Thanks Debra! Looks like double scaping is easy to achieve, so that's good. I did exactly that with HOH's sdlgs, I was hoping for a larger white edge with those. Don't know exactly how to do it correctly, but I crossed best color with best scape, will see..
