Nooo not inside! they need the cold to go dormant for the season. They Need to be kept out of winter sun exposure. Storing in an unheated shed or garage is ideal.

I think You have some really nice ones there, lindaliana. Your streakers are very impressive. I would do whatever the knowledgable hosta pot growers recommend. I have no experience with this issue.

I would try to prolong the season by growing them inside for a while but I get lazy in the winter. As long as they get their ~2 months of dormancy they should be fine. Maybe not all of them, but it would be a good test for some of them.

I second (or 3rd) in the ground and also they are a nice group of seedlings. They are storing up energy for next year at this point anyway........they will most likely come back larger in the Spring.

Assuming they survive, and I will do the happy dance with Ken, WHEN they survive, will you cultivate them and do tissue culture and all that which hosta developers do? I love you second and third ones!

You people are killing me... I have no land. My veggie garden is community gardens that I rent from April to November... At present I have about 30 % of my hostas in pots and number will go up as they grow and fill the beds...

So pots are sitting in sunnier spots of the garden and enjoying being pampered.

I will have a spot by house wall avail for them later on for overwintering.

One of the moderators on Hosta seedling forum on FB does bring in his seedlings and not only overwinter them but does his crosses as well as he gets them to bloom early. He mentions that it is ok to do with first year seedlings. Not that I have an agenda.

DJ, as for propagating them, nah, just fir fun growing. I like streakers and like growing from seeds. I do have several streaked hostas but most of them are too pricey.

Most of of seedlings will settle anyway.
